• DRC was established in 1939 under the name of the Desert Institute, and was officially inaugurated in early 1951,
•  In 1990 DRC was recognized in the form of a (DESERT RESEARCH CENTER) so as to take a greater role in desert development,
•  DRC like  any university in Egypt, and is divided to four division’s, any division  as any faculty in Egypt:

    1- Water Resources and Desert Land,

     2- Ecology and Dry Land Agricultural Division,

     3- Animal Production and Poultry,

     4- Economic and Social Research.

• These four divisions include 23 research departments which in turn divided into 78 Unites covering all the scientific qualifications
